We had a wonderful winter and are having an equally fantastic spring! And since I am the worstblogger in the world I have a little catching up to do.
It was kind of nice to have a warm winter, but the holidays didn't feel quite right without the snow. We drove around looking at lights multiple times a week during December to help us feel a little more festive. We also went to see Santa at the zoo, Ben wasn't too happy to see him, but since he is such a good boy he still got a candy cane which he of course loved.
Tyler was originally going to have to work on Christmas, but a lucky scheduling change allowed him to get the whole week off, but we kept that a secret from our families. It was hilarious to show up at Tyler's parents house on Christmas eve at 10:30 pm, ring the doorbell, and have them look out the window and see a strange pick up truck (our wonderful rental car) and with all the CSI and Criminal Minds episode flashing through their minds hesitantly open the door to find us on the doorstep. They were very happily surprised to say the least, as were my parent when we showed up at their house on Christmas day. It was such a wonderful Christmas present to see all our family for the holidays, and Ben especially loved seeing his grandparents and playing with all his cousins.
Celebrating Christmas at home when Tyler got home from his 30 hour shift with just a couple of hours until we caught our flight.
Ringing in the New Year Vincent style, sledding, snowmobiling, snowball fights, games, movies and yummy food at the cabin.
